The Vaultek MX2i is a high-capacity Essential Series biometric safe designed to organize and protect handguns, magazines, documents, cash, and everyday valuables. Its customizable interior can accommodate up to eight full-size handguns when configured with compatible Vaultek modules, making it a versatile storage solution for a bedroom, closet, or office.
A progressive-formed 14-gauge carbon-steel body and reinforced 12-gauge steel door provide substantial protection without requiring the space of a traditional gun cabinet. Vaultek’s anti-pry construction, ruggedized interior hinges, and patented dual anti-impact latch system help keep the door secured against forced entry and impact.
Authorized users can open the safe with its high-resolution biometric scanner, which stores up to 20 fingerprints, or the auto-illuminating eight-button Smart Sense™ keypad. Two included manual keys provide dependable backup access. Once authorized, the front door opens automatically for fast access to the contents.
The MX2i is a standalone Essential model without Wi-Fi, smartphone-app monitoring, or Nano Key compatibility. This keeps everyday operation straightforward and local to the safe. An included power cable supplies continuous power, while four AAA batteries provide backup operation during an outage.
Inside, automatic LED lighting makes stored items easier to identify in dark rooms. The included pull-out shelf can be installed at three different heights, while the safe floor accepts up to three compatible drop-in storage modules. A high-density foam Twin Pistol Rack is included to help organize two handguns without placing them directly against the steel interior.
Vaultek backs the MX2i with a two-year limited warranty covering qualifying defects in materials and workmanship. Registering the safe with Vaultek extends eligible warranty coverage to three years.
